    History of Eurovision - Malta.
    In the 1971 was our first step in the Eurovision. Joe Grech represented Malta. He went with the song in other country “Marija Il-Maltija”. This was in Maltese language. Then one year after,
    1972, Helen and Joseph represented Malta. It was called “L-Imhabba”. This was in Maltese and English language. They came in the 18th place. With 48 points. The lyricist was Albert Cassola and the composer was Charles Camillieri.
    Then three years later we took part again. In 1975, Renato went to the Eurovision. He sang “Singing The Song”. He came to 12th place. With 32 points. The composer was Sammy Galea and the lyricist was M.Iris Mifsud.
    Then 16 years after Paul Giordimaina and Georgina went to Italy in 1991. They represented Malta with the song “Could It Be”. They came to 6th place with 106 points. The composer was Paul Abela and the lyricist was Ray Mahoney.
    In 1992 Mary Spiteri took part in the Eurovision. The song was “Little Child”. She came to the 3rd place with 123 points. The composer was Georgina Abela with the lyricist Ray Mahoney.
    William Mangion was the singer, lyricist and composer. He sang “This Time”. He came to the 8th place with 69 points. This was in 1993.
    Chris and Moria represented Malta. The song was “More Than Love”. They came to the 5th place with 97 points. The lyricist was Moria Stafrace and the composer was Chris Scicluna. This was in 1994.
    In the year 1995 Mike Spiteri went to the Eurovision. He sang “Keep Me In Mind”. He came to the 10th place with 76 points. The lyricist and the composer were Alfred C.Sant and Ray Agius.
    In 1996 Miriam Christine Borg was the youngest girl who went to represent Malta in the Eurovision. She was 16 years old. She came to the 10th place with 68 points with the song “In A Woman’s Heart”. The composer was Paul Abela and the lyricist was Alfred C.Sant.
    1997, Debbie Scerri represented Malta. With the song “Let Me Fly” she came to the 9th place with 66 points. The composer and the lyricist was Ray Agius.
    This time was for Chaira. She sang “The One That I Love” she came to the 3rd place with 165 points. Lyricist Sonny Aquilina while the composer is Jason Paul Cassar. This was in 1998.
    In the 1999, the group “Times 3” who represented Malta was consist in 3 girls who sang “Believe In Peace”. They came to the 15th place with 32 points. The composer is Chris Scicluna with his partner, the lyricist Moria Stafrace who sang together in the year 1994 in the Eurovision.
    Now in the year 2000 Claudette Pace went to represent Malta in the Eurovision with the song “Desire”. She came to the 8th place with 73 points. The composer is Philip Vella with the lyricist Gerard James Borg.
    In 2001. Fabrizio Faniello sang the song “Another Summer night”. He came to the 9th place with 48 points. The lyricist was Georgina Abela who sang in 1991 with her husband the composer Paul Abela.
    Ira Losco went to represent Malta with the song “7th Wonder”. Again with the composer Philip Vella and the lyricist Gerard James Borg. She came to the 2nd place with 164 points. All of the singers were great, but Ira made a big success. In that year, 2002, Latvia was the winner.
    Lynn Chircop represented Malta. The song was “To Dream Again”. She went to Latvia and she came the 25th place with 4 points. But we still are proud of her. The lyricist was Cynthia Sammut while the composer was Alfred Zammit. Turkey won that year. The singer “Sertab” with her song “Everyway That I can”. This was in the 2003.
    2004. This year was for the couple Ludwig Galea and Julie Zarha. The lyricist and the composer were again Gerard James Borg with Philip Vella. They came to the 12th place with 50 points. The song was “On Again... Off Again”. They went to Turkey. The winner was from Ukraine.
    2005 – This year Chiara, one of the best and most loved singers in Malta classified second with the marvelous song that she herself wrote “Angel”.
    2006 – Fabrizio Faniello wrote and interpreted the song “I Do” but classified amongst the last places.
    2007 – Olivia Lewis with the song “Vertigo” was a very good song.
    2008 – Morena interpreted the song “Vodka” written by Gerard James Borg and Philip Vella. She gave a very good interpretation.
    2009 - This year the very good singer Chiara will be representing Malta again. Her incredible voice will deliver “What if We” to all Europe. Fingers crossed.
